Closure order for Eastbourne property
Police have secured a closure order on a property in Lascelles Terrace, Eastbourne which was linked to several anti-social behaviour, disorder and drug related incidents.
The application for the closure was heard at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 25th March 2026 and was granted in full. As a result, the address was closed on the same day as the court hearing and will remain closed for three months.
The premises; ‘Fairlands Hotel’, formerly a hotel, and house in multiple occupation (HMO), was being used in a manner inconsistent with it’s intended purpose, resulting in criminality, drug use, and high levels of anti-social behaviour.
Neighbourhood Solicing Sergeant Adam said:
“Residents in the surrounding area had been subjected to anti-social and violent incidents for several months, officers would like to thank those who reported incidents to police at the time, and hope that this order will offer local communities some respite from recent crime and behaviours in the area”.
“Working alongside Eastbourne Borough Council, our thanks are extended to these local authorities for their vital assistance, cooperation and support, which contributed significantly to the closure order.”
If anyone has any concerns or information about anti-social behaviour, report to police online or call 101. | |
